I always remember as a child my Dad suddenly asking me out of the blue what the capital city of a particular country was. What’s the capital of Iceland? Spain? Argentina? It’s a little harder to quiz the kids when it comes to the flags of various countries which is why this game is such a great idea! Step to the World Socks by Japanese company gg*, is a type of memory game based on the flags of nations from around the world. There are 14 pairs of illustrated wooden socks with one sock showing a graphic of the main features of a nation’s flag and the other sock revealing the full flag, the name of the country and the way you say ‘hello’ in the national language of that country. There is even a blank pair of socks so the kids can add the details of their own favourite country.

The game consists of 30 wooden socks (14 illustrated pairs and 1 blank pair) and comes packaged in a lovely 100% hemp canvas bag in the shape of a sock.
