Faces For Baby – A soft book for newborns

Faces For Baby - A soft book for newborns

Faces For Baby by Aussie mum, Katey Love, is a delightful soft black and white book specifically designed for newborns.

Research has shown that newborn babies respond well to high-contrast patterns and colour combinations, making black and white the obvious choice. Katey has utilised her graphic design knowledge (and Mum skills) to create this concertina-style cloth book which attracts and keeps little ones’ attention due to the high contrast imagery. The book can be positioned beside bub so they can easily see it and as they get older and more mobile, the book can be safely handled and played with.

Face For Baby is available from Scallyoop for $17.95. Be sure to also check out Katey’s other newborn book, Mesmerised, while you’re there!

Home Guard/Soldier Bookend

Home Guard/Army Man Bookend

In World War II, the Home Guard was comprised of approximately 1.5 million British volunteers who were ineligible for military service. This was usually due to their age (which is why they were also referred to as ‘Dad’s Army’) and their role was to guard important places such as Britain’s airfields, factories and explosives stores.

Just like the Home Guard, this resin soldier‘s job is to stay home and protect. Your important and cherished books will be safe from the threat of overly heavy novels, excessive space, slamming doors and inquisitive little fingers! :)

The Home Guard Bookend by Suck UK is available in Australia from Shop Until for $59.95 each. We just love it!
