At Style My Child HQ, there are four children. That’s four birthdays per year and four lots of Chrissy presents to be had. Each time one of these occasions occurs, I’m left shaking my head at the enormous amount of packaging that is left behind after the kids have run off with their latest and greatest toy.
Not only is it almost impossible to open some packaging without ninja scissor skills and a whole lot of patience (I’m looking at you clear plastic boxes with the hard plastic ties!), it is also dreadful for our environment. A solution? The Tube Toy by Oscar Diaz Studio in London.

This fabulous toy IS the packaging! Each tube contains the components and decals needed to create a unique push-along toy. Pre-cut slots and holes have been placed in the tube so little fingers can add the wheels and other components themselves. Once complete, all that is left is a single piece of recyclable paper. Now that’s smart design!
The Tube Toy not only teaches kids to consider their environment, it also encourages them to use their imaginations and fine motor skills. They’ll be filled with a sense of pride at their efforts and you’ll be able to fit everything in the bin that week!
Tube Toys are available in Australia from Little Living for $19.95 each. Brilliant!
